A view of spillway activity on 13 April 2008, noted that water level still at 22' by spillway gates today.

Video taken by Bob(Mike) on 13 April 2008:

  • Video 1 - Bonnie's gator swimming around, Bonnie spotted these gators, when we pulled over, 3-4 other cars joined us !
  • Video 2 - Folks casting fish lines and casting nets into spillway with large fish on bank of spillway
  • Video 3 - Water flowing through Bonnie Carre spillway today.
Did you read about the ten (10) car pile-up on Airline Highway?  Well... thankfully NOT, but Bonnie spotted some gators and said, "pull over" and three to four other cars saw us and pulled over as well. One of Bonnie's alligators swimming, middle right of picture about a third of the way from bottom.
Bank of Mississippi River across levee from Shell oil refinery in Norco Aaahh, let's see, this fellow is at least 5' 10" tall or perhaps 6' tall, measure from just above his shoulder to knee is approximately 4' in length, ergo... 4' long fish.  This, for those who thought Bob(Mike) was telling a fish story about alligators eating 4' fish in spillway !
watching the sun set on the spillway a large wheel barrel of bulls and carp.  not everyone will eat these.  you know..., if you have a large catfish (which have these huge wide heads with bulgy eyes and whiskers), well, some folks will pay you a premium just for the catfish head,  ... that is great stew you know and premium head meat... yum, umm

a few guys fishing on edge of current from spillway, actually it was windy and cold today, these guys are standing in the water, I'll try the water later this week and report on temperature... is it cold?
